Friday’s Riddle for Networkers….How Long Does it Take to Make 10K a Month?

RIDDLE

This one is tough, Albert Einstein wrote it…..

Here is Einstein’s Riddle:
Einstein wrote the following riddle. He said that 98% of the world could not solve it. But several NIEHS scientists were able to solve it, and they said it’s not all that hard if you pay attention and are very patient. Give it a try:

There are 5 houses in 5 different colors in a row. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage. Other facts:
1. The Brit lives in the red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the immediate left of the white house.
5. The green house’s owner drinks coffee.
6. The owner who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The owner living in the center house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The owner who keeps the horse lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill.
12. The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who drinks water.

The question is: WHO OWNS THE FISH?

GUESSING

Well, you can guess and have a 1 in 5 chance.  This is how most people build their business……they guess.

A 1 in 5 chance.  Do we really want our heart’s desire to rest on a guess?

You wouldn’t think so but when people join a team with 6 figure earners and do it their way instead of how people are doing it who are making 6 figure incomes are doing it aren’t they guessing?

They do it ‘their way’, don’t get the results and quit…..maybe they join another deal, maybe they don’t…..but in essence they’ve taken to guessing what it takes by abandoning advice of people who have a financail interest in them and guessed at how it will work.

So sad to ‘guess’ at what might work.

MICROWAVE

Building a big, self-perpetuating organization takes time.  If you are working a full-time job, have family and other obligations maybe all you can dedicate 10 hours a week it is going to take a couple of years.

Ut-oh….2 whole years to change the financial destiny of your family for generations…..not fast enough…..

This type looks at the riddle of building a big group, says two years is toooooo long and starts buying the crap online that offers systems and leads that will ‘explode’ your business over night…..satiating the desire to get there faster but it simply does not work.

CHEATING

You could just scroll down and look at the answer but the money in networking is made by folks who realize it is a new venture and they are going to need some new skills.  Cheating means you did not learn what you needed to learn and in this business…..we learn or we perish based on duplication…..we’ve got to learn what to do so we can teach others to do what we learned without us.

We need to be able to teach and everybody knows you cannot teach what you do not know…..and cheating prevent us from learning.

PATIENCE

It is a tough riddle.  But creating a little spread sheet for each category…..you can hand draw it…..and some patience…..you can work it out.

Edison said “Most people miss opportunity because it shows up in overalls and looks like work.”

Learning what to say and what to do does not take that much time.  Couple hours….to get 94% of the folks to say yes to looking at what you have to offer.

It does take some practice, another couple hours….then simply do what successful people do…..find out what works, master it and do it over and over and over…….

TIME

It took us about 18 months once we realized this is a skill based business to hit $10,000 a month.  The second 10K was faster.

The next big one we were blessed with took about a year but we were better teachers at that point ……no, we did not bring folks from the first deal in case you are wondering.  What we did do was get a grip on common sense and realize a year or two to shift our family’s lives financially forever is a pretty small price to pay.

Networking does not have a high start-up, we all know this…..but 10 hours a week times 100 weeks……1000 hours ……if you figure it at an hourly rate gives it a whole new meaning…..while we are not investing 100s of 1000s of dollars out-of-pocket like we might with a franchise or small business………we are investing 1000+ hours…..at 30 bucks and hour that is $30,000 bucks…..this is known as sweat equity.

LOGIC

Here is how you solve the riddle of networking……and Einstien’s Riddle….

It is a new occupation [and if this is your third or fourth deal, you REALLY need to look at it like a new occupation]…….and with any new occupation, you need an objective, a plan and commitment….just like any business.

1. Learn the skills
2. Practice the skills
3. Declare your objective and date it
4. Commit to a weekly work schedule
5. Keep your commitment whether you feel like it or not.

Logical…..just like Einstien’s Riddle

TURN YOUR BACK ON ALL DISTRACTIONS

Look from online hustlers selling secrets and systems to relatives who think you are nuts to friends who try to discourage you…..bless them and turn your back on them

The riddle is tough….much tougher than networking……but they both require the same thing.

A decision to do it.

You can solve it by scrolling up, cut and paste in into a word document, print it and doing the work…. ….just like learning & practicing skills, a schedule and committing.

Of you can scroll down and look at the answer……and that is OK but notice if that is how you treat your business when faced with challenges….. I know I did while I was suffering through 5 failures in the 1980s…..because that is really the point of the riddle……not the answer but the opportunity for self discovery.
