KNOWLEDGE = POWER
This is false.
Knowledge x Action = Power.
Here are 10 things that winners choose to do.
Where’d the list come from?
Scripture, Think and Grow Rich…..with a little help from my friends…….Coach Lombardi, Coach Wooden, Albert Einstein, Mary Kay…..and others who helped me along the way.
Over the years, sticking to it brings massive positive results….straying….not so hot.
1. PUT SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF FIRST
“Gentlemen, take care of your relationship with God….then your family…..after that you belong to the Green Bay Packers” Â Coach Lombardi
I first got how powerful this was when a friend explained I did not have to be religious or I could be…..it did not matter……it just mattered that I did not think I was Him and remembering that would help me keep things in perspective.
Too many people working from home let their work become who they are instead of a function of what they do.  Putting something bigger than ourselves first helps facilitate this idea and  Coach Lombardi’s  success with his players and life make sense once we live that way first…..keep things in order about life.
2. DO YOUR BEST
There is a massive difference between ‘doing the best I can’ and ‘doing your best’
Wooden preached for 70 years that the only way to peace of mind is to look at yourself at the end of the day and answer to yourself.
Did I do my best?
Losers say ‘the best I can’ ….winners do their best.
3. FIRST THINGS FIRST
Once you have taken care of points 1 & 2…..keep first things first.
There is a traction point for every business…..research, PR etc…..all fine and dandy…..AFTER we execute our best on the traction point FIRST.
4. BE A HEDGEHOG
Hedgehogs find out what to do and do it over and over and over…..while foxes flit from project to project.
The hedgehog always kicks the foxes butt…..so once point 3, first things first, gets you rolling….staying with it is point 4.
5. HAVE A PLAN
Home-based businesses are not rocket science but most people treat them that way….and do more research than work….again, it’s not rocket science.
In MLM….call prospects [see Point 3] …..and plan, in writing to do it everyday….first.
The difference between knowing what to do and doing it is whether or not we schedule it and…..if it isn’t written, it is simply not true.
Build a written plan around the traction point for your business, write it down, schedule it.
6. BE A PROFESSIONAL
The very first thing legendary Hall of Fame coach John Wooden taught his players to do was NOT about the game. Â Hall of Famer Bill Walton loves telling the story about being so excited about meeting Wooden and the first day….figuring he was going to learn the ‘secrets’ of being part of the incredible dynasty…..it wasn’t…it was about how to properly put on their sox and shoes. Â Walton was stunned and disappointed.
Wooden explained and Walton later confirmed that properly executed details in preparation eliminated excuses in the game. Â Nothing minor was left to chance….
It’s stunning how many people go into their office and sort out yesterday’s work, look for the names of people to call and dozens of other things getting ready to contact prospects. Â Frustrated at what they can’t find, self-worth slips and it’s hard to recruit and be positive after wasting an hour or more in an unprofessional manner.
Clean up your office and have everything ready to go the night before. Â When you walk in to make calls you’ll feel like a Pro….and you’ll act like a Pro ….and being positive, feeling confident and professional is an unspoken message that prospects will sense…..after all, if you don’t believe you are a Pro and can help them, why would they feel you can?
Take 20 minutes and get ready to the next time you go to work you can go-go-go.
7. KEEP LEARNING
It’s what we learn after we know it all that makes a difference. Coach Wooden
KEY: Learn in your car……anyone who knows the Top 40 on the radio will never be a Top Earner.  It is crucial that we make calls [Point 3] during the time it is appropriate to contact prospects, this is not the learning short-cuts time.
8. EXERCISE THE PRIVILEGE OF GOING THE EXTRA MILE
I have never seen a traffic jam on the extra mile.
9. SACRIFICE SOMETHING OF VALUE
Don’t ask your family to make all the sacrifices. Â I gave up watching football for 2 years and was determined to get something in return.
My daughter Chelsea used to give up vegetables for Lent…..she never liked them anyway.
What are you willing to give up….there is no GV, [group volume], Â in TV ……we shut every TV in the house off and cut the cords.
10. GIVE 10% OF EVERYTHING AWAY NOW
- You paycheck
- Your leads
- 1 out of every 10 people you sponsor
- Your time
- Expect nothing in return
We are selling abundance and hanging on to anything indicates scarcity….we simply cannot expect to prosper if we are waiting to do better to start giving.
- 10% of your ice cream cone
- 10% of your golf balls
- 10% of everything
That which we share will multiply, that which we hold will diminish.
BONUS THAT PUTS US OVER THE TOP
Ego is a back breaker.
Embrace, don’t defend mistakes and learn from them.
In life, business and relationships, learn and love learning from your mistakes.
Been through it all, like most people…..blame is the one thing that will hold us back….and keep us back.
It wasn’t uplines, downlines or prospects or companies that held me back…..it was me.
It wasn’t partners in relationships that caused the failure or lack of money….it was me.
It wasn’t the economy/real estate market  that put me into bankruptcy, it was me.
In this industry and in this country in particular….be embracing these mistakes and learning some tough lessons we’ve moved past all those things, learned to make better decisions and carved out a life second to none by asking myself what could I have done differently…..while keeping loyal to those 10 tiny little things listed above.
Our fortunes can change shift on a dime…..in this industry and in this country …..if we remember a dime is comprised of 10 pennies – or in this case…..10 simple ideas to convert knowledge to power
The whole, all 10 ideas, is greater than the sum of the parts.

Because of people like you that give freely (what to say and what to do) the only thing left to do is take action. What I mean is, practice and take action….The power is in the action!
